2006 Cosmetic Dentistry Scientific Session
Join us in Vancouver, Canada for the 2nd Annual Conference. The conference will be held at the Marriot Pinnacle Downtown Hotel.
Speakers include:
Dr. Corky Willhite
Transitional Bonding: Non-traditional Direct Resin Restorations
for Major Occlusal and Esthetic Changes
Learn a practical technique using composite that offers many advantages over traditional composite or porcelain restorations. Patients—including those that need extensive changes for function and esthetics—love conservative treatment, whether for financial reasons or just because they don’t want their teeth “drilled down.” Requiring virtually no prep even for smile make-overs and full mouth rehabilitation cases, long-lasting results can be expected.
This course is very different than other resin courses. It is NOT about how to layer the resins, tints and opaquers but covers additional information that will help any doctor master their Freehand Bonding skills.
You’ll also learn:
• How to build anterior guidance for severe wear cases
• What materials work best in non-compliant patients
• Practical occlusal principles for maximizing longevity
• A method of opening Vertical Dimension that is practical and effective
Dr. Jeff Morley
Longevity, Esthetics, and Bite Stabilization
What are the options for treating cosmetic problems when the patient is on a limited budget? How can the dentist treat the worn dentition in phases to accommodate patients’ financial concerns? Traditional adhesive bonding techniques can now be utilized to help patients solve complex cosmetic and occlusal problems. Dr. Morley will share his personal bonding techniques that have evolved over 30 years in his San Francisco practice.
He will also explain how advanced bonding procedures are applied in complex restorative cases as an adjunct to traditional crowns and veneers.
Participants attending this seminar will learn:
1. The principles of vertical dimension of occlusion
2. Indications for lengthening upper incisors for cosmetics and anterior guidance
3. The MORLEY BITE STABILIZATION (MBS) technique for treating worn dentitions and the dentition lacking adequate vertical dimension of occlusion
4. How the muscles of facial expression can be managed to help patients look younger
5. How smiles can be managed to help patients look younger
Dr. Bill Dickerson
Why Some Cosmetic Dentists Succeed and Others Don’t
The Future of Dentistry
Dentistry is at a turning point for the profession. Many may follow the road of conventional dentistry that will lead to a managed care practice. A few will select an alternative that will not only prevent them from being forced down the managed care path, but loving every minute of it. Find the key to happiness in dentistry through the adaptation of a better way to practice. Using esthetic restorations is only the start. It’s about giving patients what they want. Creating beautiful smiles is only the icing on the cake. The real thrill is the new found enjoyment of your profession where it becomes your hobby instead of work. The real thrill is that you, your staff and your patients are all winners. Seem too good to be true? This is a seminar that you will have to see to believe. It just might change your life.
Learning Objectives
• To learn the amazing opportunities available to us as dentists that we may not eve be aware of
• Learn the direction to take your practice to help achieve success and patient treatment acceptance
• To understand the connection between occlusion and aesthetics. It’s the key to your successful future

Dr. Tassos Irinakis
"Implant Dentistry gone wrong; What was I thinking? What do I do now?"
SYNOPSIS
Implant treatment is now promoted as "Esthetically or Restoratively driven" rather than "Bone driven". Surgical implant dentistry has now ways and methods to regenerate bone and promote implant placement in the desired position. This allows the restorative dentist to provide esthetically pleasing crown & bridge work. However, even in today's world of "predictable" bone regenerative treatment modalities, things can go wrong and result in esthetic "nightmares".
This lecture will discuss certain protocols that should accompany Guided Bone Regeneration, Immediate Implant Placement & Delayed Implant Placement in order to avoid such mishaps. Clinical scenarios will be shown, exhibiting esthetic disasters and promoting solutions that can help salvage such cases.
This lecture will enhance the general practitioner's treatment options in esthetically compromised implant patients and promote their practice through advanced therapy strategies.
