Why Become a Member
1. Annual Meeting
We have decided to ‘rebrand’ the CACD to become the source for continuing education in cosmetic dentistry in Canada. We want to do this regionally as hosting a large annual conference is costly and difficult for most of us to attend because of travel concerns. Already we have secured discounts on continuing education programs from many of the top providers listed below. Our membership can save hundreds of dollars if they are interested in any of these programs.
2. Journal of the Canadian Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
The Journal of the Canadian Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry will be sent to each dentist in Canada. This professionally published internationally acclaimed journal will highlight cosmetic techniques, materials, new innovations, opinions, upcoming events and so much more.
3. Credentialing
Currently the CACD has not adopted any credentialing policy while it completes its due diligence on the protocols and policies. However we encourage members who are interested in further credentials in Cosmetic Dentistry to contact the AACD. To learn more about the AACD accreditation program, please visit their website www.aacd.com.
4. CACD Affiliates and Local Chapters
Local chapters will be set up across the country. The Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (TACD) has already established an active and successful chapter and has been instrumental in helping to form the CACD. Other affiliates which you will automatically be a part of when you are member of the CACD will be: your local chapter, the AACD and the IFED. We are working towards becoming affiliated with more selected international organizations in the future.
5. Networking
Membership in the CACD is a family of dedicated professionals who are there to help each other with problems, difficult cases, and to share ideas. It is meant to be a friendly group which is supportive of individual and group efforts.
6. CACD Website Advertising
All CACD members will be listed in the website. Any patients who contact the CACD through the website will be directed to a dentist or several dentists in their area.
7. Patient Referral Service
All current CACD members will be listed in the site database. Any patients who contact the CACD through the website will be directed to a dentist or several dentists in their area.
8. CACD Advisory Councils
The future of CACD is to organize a variety of committees and councils to deal with the issues of credentialing, university programs and curriculae, specialty or diploma recognition, as well as other pertinent areas.
9. Business Partners
The formation of business partnerships and a national buying group geared for CACD members to help in reducing costs in the operation of practice.
10. Cosmetic Forum
In the future CACD will be creating a web forum where dentists can talk to each other via email about cosmetic dentistry questions and techniques.
11. Lending Library
CACD members can borrow DVD’s of the last three AACD conferences for the cost of shipping and soon we hope to announce an e-learning program that will bring the most current leaders in the field of cosmetic dentistry to your computer screen at your convenience.
