Credentialing is an essential component of every profession. Most professionals have some form of accreditation or designation(s) - lawyers, doctors, teachers, investment advisors, etc. Specialties, Speciality Status or Special Interest exists to indicate a higher level of knowledge, education and expertise in those fields. The level and quality of the accreditation or designation is a useful tool for the public in determining how to evaluate professionals.
There is a dire need for credentialing in cosmetic dentistry for the Canadian marketplace. The Board of Directors is presently investigating the establishment of a credentialing program for Canadian Dentists wishing to have their knowledge and skill reviewed by an objective panel of Accredited Cosmetic Dentists. |
