About the CACD

With the support of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and the Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (TACD), the CACD was founded by Dr. Ken Glick, Dr. Sheldon Little and Dr. Nathan Blitz. Through their association with other Cosmetic Dentists in Canada they chose a group of 7 individuals in 2004 to commence the inner workings of the CACD.

At present the CACD consists of; The President, President-Elect, Treasurer and 7 Board Members who are dispersed throughout Canada. The CACD annual convention is held each year within Canada and is a perfect venue for uniting Western and Eastern Cosmetic Dentists, their staff, and Laboratory Technicians to discuss the latest information in Cosmetic Dentistry. It is a
friendly interactive affair intended to create long-lasting relationships.

The CACD is an affi liate of and has a close association with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). The AACD has been very supportive during the inception of the Academy and continues to provide support and resources as required.

The future goals of the CACD are to further help members through the formation of several membership-only benefits such as, developing a buying group, discounted travel, advertising, and the promotion of Cosmetic Dentistry on a national level. A speaker’s guild and a list of Canadian Cosmetic Dentistry Experts
who are available to lecture will be promoted within the IFED, AACD and CACD organizations.

In addition, the CACD envisions providing education on a more local scale by developing and supporting chapters across Canada. Dentists from the West Coast, the Prairies, Ontario (in conjunction with the already existing Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry), Quebec, and the Maritimes would form local
chapters which will be active within the umbrella of the CACD.

Our Mission/Vision Mandate is to promote Cosmetic Dentistry across Canada for the public and the profession. The CACD is committed to assisting dentists and their teams in achieving excellence in Cosmetic Dentistry through education, dialogue, innovation and evolution of techniques. In addition, the CACD is intended to be a resource for the public to update them on the latest cosmetic information. This organization also becomes an aid to find a dentist with advanced training in their communities.
